What is OPTIMISTIC?
The full title of OPTIMISTIC is:
OPTIMISTIC: Observational Prolonged Trial In Myotonic dystrophy type 1 to Improve Quality of Life- Standards, a Target Identification Collaboration.
OPTIMISTIC is a collaboration between researchers and doctors from the Netherlands, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. OPTIMISTIC aims to improve clinical practice and standards of care for patients with DM1 internationally.
What is ReCognitION?
The full title of ReCognitION is:
ReCognitION: Recognition and Validation of Druggable Targets from the Response to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Myotonic Dystrophy type 1 patients from Integrated –Omics Networks.
ReCognitION is an international project aimed at the discovery of novel drugs for the treatment of Myotonic Dystrophy based on the results of the OPTIMISTIC study.
About ReCognitION
STUDY
We hypothesize that a comparable but DM1-specific CBT intervention, aimed at the fatigue maintaining beliefs and behaviours, tailored to the individual DM1 patient, will lead to a significant reduction of fatigue and improved quality of life.
